Public Relations Affiliation Superintendent of the Year in 2010
The Missouri Council of College Administrators (MCSA) is the umbrella group for two autonomous statewide professional associations of public school administrators. The Missouri Association of College Directors (MASA) serves faculty superintendents. The Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals (MAESP) serves elementary and middle school principals.
Dr. Terry Adams, Superintendent of the Wentzville R-IV School District, has been named the Missouri Superintendent of the Year by the Missouri Affiliation of School Administrators (MASA). The announcement of the award was made in the course of the Missouri Faculty Boards' Affiliation and MASA joint fall convention held at Tan-Tar-A Resort October 1.
Because the winner of this award, Adams received an award acknowledging his selection; a $500 scholarship for a scholar within the Wentzville College District and a commemorative ring. The award is sponsored by the PFM Asset Management, LLC, which is this system administrator for the Missouri Securities Investment Program. Because the recipient of this award, Adams will symbolize Missouri in the Nationwide Superintendent of the Year program carried out by the American Association of School Administrators.
Adams has been employed by the Wentzville College District as Superintendent of Schools since July, 2006. He has served previously as Superintendent of Schools for the Rolla Public College District, the Central R-III Faculty District and the Arcadia Valley R-II School District.
Under Adam's leadership, the district has labored to satisfy the divergent wants of lengthy-time residents in addition to the big variety of newcomers to the district. The district has regularly engaged the neighborhood in school improvement efforts. On account of neighborhood suggestions, the district has built new colleges and added on to current schools, implemented full-day kindergarten, elevated the use of know-how all through the district, improved college security, and increase rigor to offer top of the range instructional experiences for its students. As a result, the district has acquired the Distinction in Performance Award from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in each of the previous four years.
In recommending Adams for this award, Aaron Zalis, a former employee and now superintendent of the Rolla Faculty District described Adams as a visionary leader. "He has helped many faculty districts throughout his career improve student performance, construct monetary stability, enhance district amenities and improve personnel performance. He has accomplished this in districts of varying size which speaks to the transformational growth that has occurred together with his own management," Zalis said.
Adams has been elected by his peers to symbolize Missouri on the Governing Board of the American Association of College Administrators. He was the Missouri Faculty Public Relations Affiliation Superintendent of the 12 months in 2010. He has served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Hospital Board and chairperson of the Wentzville Rotary Vocational Committee.
